tl;dr;
Still no confirmed sightings. I commando crawled under a trailer in the dirt “just maybe”. We walked the same route.nothing.
Still no sightings even though it seems the entire community is watching for him. Almost everyone we encounter on our nightly walks will check in. Usually the greeting is “No luck yet, hey?”
Last night, with permission I executed a deep search under a house in the direction that Dublin sprinted. Decked out in full coveralls, a headlamp and even an FLIR camera hit the deck and commando crawled through the damp dirt. Truly a great hiding spot, but not Dublin’s hiding spot. No luck here, but you already knew that.
Both Amber and I walk a similar route each night just after the sun goes down. Since Dublin truly sprinted at top speed he might need help finding home. Hoping he’ll stumble upon the route we walk and he can follow his nose home.
When it comes to missing cats, we’ve heard everything from “There he was the next morning” all the way up to “5 months later boom, right out there the lawn.”
Ok, Dublin. Tomorrow marks a week since you sprinted. Your escape is my fault, not yours. So maybe you’re mad, or scared, or maybe you’re having a blast out there on your own. You can come back home now and be spoiled. k
